Reclaiming the Promise of America

Lisa is committed to rising above the chaos, corruption, and noise, transforming the conversations we have about the issues we care about and restoring hope in our government. A government that works with and for the people. Where people matter and are valued more than profits. Where the government is transparent and held accountable to work for EVERYONE. Where EVERYONE who is able and willing can live a safe, healthy, and productive life.

This is our moment, for us to lead by example, reclaim our democracy and give everything we’ve got to stand for the future of this country. We can no longer afford to be resigned and wait for the government to solve our problems. We are the government and it is time that we govern with courage and recommit ourselves to work for the fundamental principles this country was founded on: freedom, justice, and equality.

This is our moment for us to come together, across party lines and step up to create a future that educates, equips and empowers people like never before.

Restoring Balance of Power in America

The essence of our democracy is founded on the balance of power. The real divide is not left versus right, but concentrated and unchecked power at the top versus working families everywhere else. For decades, policies have tilted the playing field, widening the gap between the rich and the working class. It is time to restore balance with Congressional leaders who can offer practical solutions that strengthen opportunity and community, rebuild trust, and protect the promise of America for everyone.

Economic Opportunity & Affordability

The United States has the resources to make life more affordable and restore economic security for working families. Federal policy should ensure wages keep pace with the cost of living and inflation, while investing in a strong education system that prepares Americans for today’s workforce—from skilled trades to advanced technology. We need to expand tax credits for working-class Americans, help first-time homebuyers build equity, and protect essential programs that prevent hunger and homelessness. Social Security must remain strong for current and future retirees, and the tax code should reward work and productive investment—not speculation or excessive concentration of wealth.

Healthcare

Affordable, accessible healthcare is essential to individual freedom and economic stability. Preventive care reduces long-term costs and improves outcomes, yet too many Americans are forced to delay treatment because of cost. We need to get ahead of the crisis related to home health care and the price-gauging taking place by healthcare companies. We must lower prescription drug costs, rein in unreasonable premiums, and expand access to community health clinics—especially in underserved areas. Eliminating disparities in health outcomes and ensuring healthcare workers are paid fairly strengthens the entire system and protects patients, families, and employers alike.

Immigration

America needs a secure border and an immigration system that works. That means enforcing the law to keep our communities while ensuring due process and modernizing a broken system that businesses, families, and communities can rely on. We should provide permanent legal status and a clear path to citizenship for Dreamers and long-term contributors, modernize visa caps to reflect economic realities, reunite families efficiently, and ensure employers can access talent while combating bad actors and fraud. The United States is built on the dreams and sacrifices of generations of immigrants in pursuit of freedom, prosperity, and fulfillment. Values we all share. Immigration policy must be orderly, humane, and aligned with America’s economic and security interests.

Housing We Can Afford

Safe, affordable housing is fundamental to strong families and healthy communities. Federal policy needs to expand affordable housing supply, eliminate corporate ownership of housing, support pathways to homeownership for seniors, our children, and grandchildren, and invest in prevention programs for those at risk of homelessness. Housing stability improves public health, educational outcomes, and community safety.

Keeping Our Communities Safe

Every American deserves to live, work, and learn without fear of violence. We must protect children in schools and ensure public spaces are safe while respecting constitutional rights. Effective community policing, accountability, and trust in law enforcement are essential. Strengthening background checks, improving mental health screening, and promoting responsible gun safety measures can reduce violence while preserving lawful ownership. Federal funding must be directed to support crime prevention tools, youth development, education, and violence intervention programs.

Climate & Environmental Stewardship

America has a responsibility to protect its natural resources and pass them on to future generations. California is the center of extreme climate challenges, including wildfires, drought, and poor air quality. Smart environmental policy supports clean air and water, responsible energy development, and innovation in renewable technologies, while holding polluters accountable. Environmental stewardship and economic growth are not opposing goals—they reinforce one another. California can and will be the clean and green tech capital of the world.

Education

A strong nation depends on a strong education system. Schools must set high expectations and deliver real results, preparing students for college, skilled trades, or technical careers. Teachers should be respected, supported, and rewarded for performance. Charter schools that are failing to close the achievement gap must be held accountable. Federal investment should focus on quality early childhood education, strong public schools, workforce readiness, adequate funding for special education, and ensuring the affordability of higher education. Young people cannot get ahead when they are overly burdened by student loan debt. Therefore, it is critical to ensure access to higher education without placing a mortgage on their life.

Small Businesses

Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. Federal policy should reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, expand access to capital, and provide technical support so entrepreneurs can grow, hire, and compete fairly.

Women’s Health

Women deserve access to comprehensive healthcare and consistent standards of care across state lines. Public policy should protect reproductive healthcare and a woman’s right to make decisions with her doctor free of government intrusion and without extreme or blanket bans, expand investment in women’s health services, and address the economic pressures—such as low wages and lack of childcare—that limit real choice for families.

Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technology

Technology should serve people—not replace or exploit them. Artificial intelligence must be responsibly regulated to protect jobs, privacy, mental health, and national security. The United States should lead in setting standards that encourage innovation while preventing abuses, excessive job displacement, and environmental harm from unchecked data infrastructure. Developing rules for crypto exchanges and digital asset trading to bring clarity and reduce systemic risk are critical to transparency, fairness, and fraud prevention.

Diplomacy Over Military Intervention

America is strongest when it leads through diplomacy. Foreign policy should prioritize peace, strategic engagement, and alliances over unnecessary military intervention and prolonged conflicts that cost lives and resources while destabilizing regions. Leveraging partnerships, including NATO, the G7, and Asian allies, to present a unified front, enhance regional deterrence, and share the burden of defense is critical to combat China and Russia’s military modernization and threats. Foreign military financing, weapons sales, and intelligence sharing must also be reevaluated to ensure national security and the best strategic alliances.

Workers’ Rights and a Fair Economy

A strong economy depends on workers sharing in its success. Americans deserve fair wages, safe workplaces, the freedom to organize, and access to benefits that provide stability during illness, caregiving, or economic disruption. Legislation such as the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act that strengthens labor unions and collective bargaining rights is essential. Competition—not monopolies—should define our markets, and everyone, including the wealthiest and members of Congress, must play by the same rules. This includes members of Congress being prohibited from stock trading.
